Ballydehob Community Hall

Ballydehob Community Hall is located on an public amenity park along a slip road running parallel to the estuary at the meeting of the 2 rivers which gives Ballydehob its name, Beal an da Chab.
The estuary provides a beautiful traditional setting for the park enjoyed by the local community and visitors to the village.
The view is dominated by the 12 arch bridge, an impressive stone viaduct for the train service on the narrow gauge line west to Schull which was finally closed in 1934.
The estuary which is an Special Area of Conservation is used for paddleboats in the summer and has been the scene of many annual raft races which for some years were a feature of the local annual festival. Swans and many wild ducks live in the estuary.
